Mike's Pilot Log: South to South Adventure

I started driving towards Buffalo

I left Olivier at the Boys Club. The weather was improving, so we agreed that he would head off to Canada tomorrow and take the time to fix his wing and whatever other preparations were needed for our crossing of the north Atlantic. I told him that I would find the CO2 bottles and valves that we needed for the life rafts plus I would still work on the insurance. He would update his log for the web page.

I started driving towards Buffalo at about midday, thinking that I would probably get there by about 9 pm …. Well, did I have a surprise when after 6 hours of driving I checked the map and discovered that I was about a third of the way there! OK, get off the back roads – which I was quite enjoying – and onto an interstate highway. Once I was on the interstate, the miles ticked by a lot quicker. At 11pm I was really tired and so I pulled into a truck stop and resting area and immediately fell asleep – on the back seat of the car.
