Mike's Pilot Log: South to South Adventure

We slept on the floor in the hangar.

After a quick breakfast, we drove back to the airfield where we fuelled up. Brian took each of our trikes for a quick flight. He found Olivier's trike light to handle and mine similar to the Pegasus Quantum, which was the trike he flew around the world in.

We flew about one hour to St Exupery, Montpezat – a well-run and busy microlight airfield. Olivier changed his engine oil.

At about 5 pm we took off for the small microlight airfield at Montestrucq. On arriving we found a reception committee waiting for us. We had food and drinks and later the airfield owners invited us to shower at their home and to stay for dinner. Andre and Gracious treated us like royalty. One of the delicacies of the evening was Foie Gras. It was delicious, by the way. In this part of the world Foie Gras is a such a strong part of their culture and tradition.

We slept on the floor in the hangar.
