Mike's Pilot Log: South to South Adventure

It was pitch dark …. I couldn't see a thing anywhere.

It was pitch dark …. I couldn't see a thing anywhere. Was I suddenly blind? Then I noticed a little bit of light on the right hand side of my nose and remembered that I had put an airline eyecover over my eyes to help me sleep in this land of no darkness. Sandy was busy downstairs in the kitchen – I joined him for coffee and some of his homemade bread. Inside the warm wooden house I felt it was like being somewhere in Europe …. until you look out of the window and see the Canadian icebreaker ship at anchor in the bay,  the treeless rocky ground and Tundra, and the snow covered mountains 50 km away across the Frobisher Bay.
